Getting Started Text Graphics Animation Transitions Charts Sounds Movies 
Graphics
 
Draw Toolbar  
drawtoolbarbox.jpg (4955 bytes) This is the Draw Tool.  It should be at the bottom of the screen in Powerpoint.  These are many of the buttons you will need to use graphics and shapes in your presentation.
Insert Clipart 
  • Goto Insert - Picture - Clip Art
  • The Clip Gallery will appear. 
  • It is useful to use the FIND button and search for specific graphics.
Insert Scanned Pictures and Pictures from Internet 
  • Goto Insert - Picture - From File
  • It will got to your H: drive (if you are at school)
  • Select the picture you want to insert.
Insert Word Art 
  • Goto the Word Art button wordart.jpg (897 bytes)located on the Draw Toolbar.
  • Choose the style you like.
  • Enter your text and press OK.
  • Your WordArt will appear.  You can change the size by clicking and dragging the corners
Use Boxes, Cirlces, Arrows 
  • On the Draw Toolbar there are three buttons:  Circle, Box, arrow and Line. box-etc.jpg (1763 bytes)

  • Autoshape is also here to give you cool things like hearts and callout bubbles! callout.jpg (1211 bytes)
  • Click the shape you want 
  • Move your mouse to the slide and click and drag to draw the shape.
  • Press and hold SHIFT to make a perfect square or circle
Changing Line Width
  • Click the graphic you wish to change the width of the line
  • Click the line style widthbutton.jpg (802 bytes) on the Draw Toolbar and choose width.
  • For more exciting stuff click More Lines at the bottom and you will see this formattin box Formatautoshape.jpg (12437 bytes)
  • Choose colors and width... Have fun!
Using the Fill Tool
  • Click the graphic you wish to change the width of the line
  • Click the Fill Tool fillbutton.jpg (855 bytes) on the Draw Toolbar and it will change to the color showing.
  • To choose a color click the black triangle and choose your color.
  • If you want a pattern, choose Fill Effects
Create 3D images 
  • Click the graphic you wish to make 3D.
  • Click the 3D Tool 3dtool.jpg (851 bytes) on the Draw Toolbar and choose the 3D style you want.
  • If you are not able to choose any of the 3D graphics, it is not available for the item you selected. 
Animate Graphics
  • Click the graphic you wish to animate
  • Goto Custom Animation and animate it as shown in the Animation Page.
Rotate Graphics 
  • Click the graphic you wish to rotate
  • Click the 3D Tool  on the Draw Toolbar  OR
  • Goto the DRAW button located on the Draw Toolbar at the bottom of your screen. Click Rotate or Flip and you will see your choices.  If it is grey, that means you cannot rotate or flip the object. rotateorflip.jpg (10841 bytes)

  • If you choose Free Rotate the object highlighted gets a little green circle at each corner.  Click on it with your mouse and drag it up or down to the angle you desire. (Notice the mouse has changed from an arrow to a circle with an arrow.rotatemouse.jpg (5622 bytes)
Crop Graphics 
  • Click the graphic you wish to crop
  • Click on the Crop tool in the Picture Toolbarpicturetoolbar.jpg (3762 bytes)
  • Click on one of the squares on a side, not a corner.
  • Drag in towards center and it will "cutooff" that section.
  • Click off the graphics to "turn off" the cropping
Use Borders on Graphics 
  • Click the graph icon wish you want to place a border (box)
  • Click on the  line style widthbutton.jpg (802 bytes) button on the Draw Toolbar and choose width of your border.

  • Choose colors and width... Have fun!
