Getting Started Text Graphics Animation Transitions Charts Sounds Movies 
Animation
 
Animation Effects Window Do you have the animation toolbar showing?   It can be a bar:animationbar.jpg (2478 bytes)
or a window:
animationeffects.jpg (3353 bytes)
If it is a window and you want it to be on your toolbar, click on the blue title (Animation Effects) and drag it up to the toolbar area   When it changes from a box to a long rectangle let go and it will stay there!

Not there?  Goto - View - Toolbars and select Animation Effects from the list!

Animate anything!!! To ANIMATE! Click the item to animate and click the Custom Animation button customanimation.jpg (896 bytes)
and the Custom Animation window appears! customanni-effects.jpg (13664 bytes)
Choose the effect you desire by clicking the down black triangle.   If you wish to see the effect, click preview at the top right of the window. When done, click OK.
Introduce text (by paragraph, by word, by letter) To ANIMATE! Click the text to animate and click the Custom Animation button customanimation.jpg (896 bytes)
and the Custom Animation window appears!
     
  • Make sure the Effects tab is on top. 
  • Choose the effect you desire
  • On the right you will see Introduce Text.  Choose the desire action introducetext.jpg (4534 bytes)

  • (All at one brings in the text from one bullet all at once)
Automate the animation  First, click the text to animate and click the Custom Animation button customanimation.jpg (896 bytes)
and the Custom Animation window appears! Then choose the Timing Tab timing.jpg (5984 bytes)
Cool thing!!!!  You can animate other things on your slide from here.  Click the object in the left box and click animate in the right! COOL!

To automate:

     
  • Click the object to automate
  • Make sure Animate is clicked on right
  • Click Sutomatically and choose the number of seconds (I usually use 0 or 1.  Play with it...)
Use custom animation to change timing  Click the Custom Animation button customanimation.jpg (896 bytes)
and the Custom Animation window appears! Then choose the Timing Tab timing.jpg (5984 bytes)
Dim after animation  Highlight the desired bulleted list and click the Custom Animation button customanimation.jpg (896 bytes) and the Custom Animation window appears!  You should see the Effects Tab. 
  • Choose the effect you desire
  • Look at the bottom of the window and see the Don't Dim box dim.jpg (2971 bytes)

  • Click the black triangle and you will see the following choices: dimmenu.jpg (6367 bytes)
  • If you choose a color, the text will turn that color when the mouse is clicked next.
  • Hide After Animation - Shows the item and then immediately makes it disappear
  • Hide on Next Mouse Click - does exactly what it says!!
Use custom animation to change effects  click the Custom Animation button customanimation.jpg (896 bytes)
and the Custom Animation window appears! You should see the Effects window. customanni-effects.jpg (13664 bytes) Click and hold the black triangle and Choose the effect you want.  Remember!  You can preview the effect by clicking the preview button at the top right.
Use custom animation to change chart effects  Highlight the chart you wish to annimate and click the Custom Animation button customanimation.jpg (896 bytes)
and the Custom Animation window appears!  You should see the Chart Animation tab. chartannimation.jpg (14283 bytes)
     
  • Choose how to introduce each element in the chart (Usually the bars..)
  • Choose an Effect for the entry of the chart AND each element.
  • You can add sound here
  • You can dim the previous element if you wish.  I DO NOT recommend this because you probably want to see the whole chart once the animation is complete.
Use custom animation to change play settings  This is SOoooooo important for sound and movies!

Sound:  After inserting a sound and seeing the little speaker soundspeaker.jpg (1011 bytes)on your slide,  Click the speaker to highlight it and go to Custom Animation. 
The Play Settings Tab sould appear.playsettings.jpg (11862 bytes)

     
  • CLICK Play using animation order
  • Choose to PAUSE or CONTINUE the show
  • Choose how long you wish to play the tune - That is  - for how many slides?
  • More Options - Click this to loop you sound (make it play over and over and over....)
  • MOST IMPORTANT!!!!  if you want the sound to play automatically, you must go to the Timing Tab and click - ANIMATE - AUTOMATICALLY and choose how fast you want it to start playing - ), 1, etc seconds!
