"What's the big deal about spreadsheets, anyway? I can just as easily add up a list of numbers using my head."

"I can't be bothered learning how to use a spreadsheet to calculate my grades, its just as quick when I use a calculator." How often have I heard comments like these? The trick in answering them is to show powerful examples of spreadsheets that you can use in your everyday life. This tutorial was created with you, the high school student, in mind. The exercises it includes are designed to be interesting and useful to you during your academic careers. Your success with this tutorial will require you to have a working knowledge of computers (being able to turn on a computer and start a particular software application) and basic navigational skills on the World Wide Web (being able to get from one web page to another and back again!). It is a good idea to open a spreadsheet program, like MS Excel, while you are running this tutorial.  If you need help doing this      CLICK HERE!
