Real Estate Salesperson's Requirements:
Potential real estate salespersons must complete a 45-hour NY State
Real Estate Licensing Course before applying for a NY State license.
Salesperson candidates are required to be sponsored by a licensed NY
State broker. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age. The NY Department
of State administers the Salesperson’s Licensing Examination.
Failure to make application for licensure within two years from the
date of the state examination will invalidate the results of your test.
NY State mandates 90% attendance for course credit.
Continuing Education for NYS Licensees:
Since November 1, 1995, N.Y. State regulations require that real estate
licensees must complete 22.5 hours of approved continuing education
in the two years preceding their license renewal. NY State mandates
90% attendance for course credit.
