FDS0104 Artisan Bread Baking

There’s nothing in the world like the aroma and taste of warm, fresh baked bread right out of the oven. Learn to bake old and new world breads from our Executive Pastry Chef instructor. Bake sour dough foccacia made from a natural yeast culture, traditional French brioche, a variety of wheat and rye breads, pan loaves and rolls. This is a handson, in-the-kitchen class. BRING YOUR OWN APRON.

FDS0106 Breakfast Pasteries and Sweet Breads

Fresh baked breakfast pastries………Is there anything better on a Sunday morning? Learn to bake scones, Danish pastries, muffins, quick and sweet breads, traditional French croissants and pain au chocolate. Our Executive Pastry Chef instructor will teach you how. This is a hands-on, in-the-kitchen class. BRING YOUR OWN APRON.

PHG0104 Creative Photography

Bring your 35mm or Digital camera to class and discover how to take great pictures. Practice exercises and weekly critiques will help you understand more about composition, lighting, nature photography, photographing people and what makes the difference between a good picture and a great one. There will be a class photo field trip with your instructor. Students must purchase and process several rolls of 35mm film or make prints from your digital memory card.

CIT0170 Digital Imaging

Got a digital camera? Get the most out of your digital photography by using your computer software effectively. Learn to adjust brightness, balance colors, using filters, fixing distortions and removing red-eye. Create composites and optimize your photo files for print or monitor(WEB) display. Other topics include color modes, digital file formats, digital camera technology and tips on what to look for if you’re buying a digital camera.

BUS0107 Speaking Spanish

Jump-start your ability to speak Spanish with this specialized conversational course. Learn the basic Spanish language skills necessary to be a successful business professional in Westchester’s multi-lingual environment. An excellent course for teachers, business people, sales representatives and those who want to hablar espanol.

CPR0101 Emergency First Response

Emergency First Response is an innovative CPR/First Aid program. Primary Care (CPR) prepares you to render aid for life-threatening emergencies. Secondary Care (first aid) you assist those in need when Emergency Medical Services are delayed. An innovative program combining CPR and emergency care skills including Automated External Defibrillation into one 8-hour course. Skills include Primary Assessment, Rescue Breathing, One Rescuer CPR, Choking Management, Control of Bleeding, Shock Management. Max 12. Certification for successful candidates by the Professional Assoc. of Diving Instructors.
