Richard Butler

Richard Butler (1743-1791) was born in Ireland and was one of five brothers who settled in Pennsylvania and served in the Continental Army. After the battle of Stony Point, Butler fought at Yorktown (1781) and in the Carolinas with his fellow Pennsylvanian, Anthony Wayne. Butler was mortally wounded in battle against Indians in the present state of Ohio in 1791.
