Kathryn Sullivan

Kathryn Sullivan is an astronaut for NASA. Kathryn Sullivan was born in Patterson, New Jersey in October 3. Her family members were Donald P. Sullivan, lives in Cupertino, California. Her mother, Barbara K. Sullivan past away. Kathryn Sullivan graduated from Taft High School, Woodland Hills California. The year was 1967. Kathryn obtained an Earth Science degree from Santa Cruz University in 1973. She became an astronaut in 1979 and has been on three space flights. in Kathryn Sullivan is in the Astronaut Hall of Fame. She received that reward in the year of 2004. Kathryn Sullivan accepted the Woman of Distinction Award in the year 2002. Kathryn Sullivan got the Juliet Award in 2003.

In 1984, Sullivan flew aboard Mission 41-G. She became the first woman to make a space walk during this flight. In 1990, Sullivan flew aboard STS-31. The crew put the Hubble Space Telescope into orbit.

Sullivan made her last flight aboard STS-45 in 1992. The crew studied the Earth.
