Florence Nightingale

Nitegale.gif (8386 bytes)Florence Nightingale was born in May12, 1820. She was born in Florence, Italy. Her parents were from England. They were rich. Florence’s parent’s names were William and Fanny Nightingale. She had a sister named Parthenope. She grew up in England. She was taught by a private teacher named Anna and by her father. She was a good student.

She became interest in helping people. In 1844, when she was 24 years old, she decided to be a nurse. She said God made her do it. Her parents did want her to do it. Her parents did not let her do it. But then they let her do it. She liked it. She became in charge of an institution to care of sick people. They liked her so much that they reached to kiss her shadow.

They wrote poems and songs about her. She even wrote two books. She opened the Nightingale training school for nurses in London were open. She won the Order of Merit award. She died in August 13, 1910. She died when she was 90 years old. She died in her sleep.

Without Florence, the world would be nasty and more people would have died then.
