Carla McGhee

Carla McGhee was born on March 6, 1968 in Peoria, Illinois. She went to Peoria Manual High School. Carla majored in sports management at the University of Tennessee and won two national basketball championships there. At 6'1" Carla plays forward for the Orlando Miracle. She almost died in a car crash in 1987. She broke almost all the bones in her face, fractured her hip, and got a brain contusion. She played professional basketball in Germany, Spain, Switzerland, and Italy. Her rookie season with the WNBA was 1999. She was out for a season due to pregnancy. In 1996 Olympics Carla wore #10 and was a gold medalist on the US women's basketball team. She donated her gold medal to a community center in her home town.
