She was such a good
sculptor that it was like she could make stones talk. She was born in Albany. Later on in
Rome she set up her own studio.
She was one of the first black Americans to be recognized as a great artist. She was born 1845 and she died in 1900.
She was recognized as a very good artist. She was also a very good sculpture. She was also a fighter for freedom. She was also involved with the Underground Railroad. She was one of the first black people that fought in the Civil War. I think that she was a very cool person!
