Whoopi Goldberg

Whoopi Goldberg was born in 1949 in New York and her real name was Caryn Johnson. She started to act at the age of eight. When she was eight she already a member of the children's theater. Whoopi preformed in three Broadway shows.

Whoopi Goldberg had a daughter called Alexandra and in the same year she got a divorce in her marriage. She left New York and went to work with a theater group in San Diego and San Francisco.

She married cameraman David Edger in 1986 but divorced him shortly after the marriage. Whoopi's first major film was Stephen Spielberg's movie, "The Color Purple." She became a star after her hit movie "Ghost" and won an Oscar. She is one of the highest paid actress in Hollywood. She played in sister act 1 and sister act 2. Whoopi is in Hollywood Squares and is the middle square.
