Anne Frank
(1929- 1945)

The diary of Anne Frank was famous throughout the world. She was born on June 12, 1929 in Frankfurt, Germany. On Anne's thirteenth birthday she received the best present she ever got, which was her diary, she named it ''Kitty." Anne loved to write in "Kitty."

In 1933, Anne, her older sister Margot, her father Otto Frank and her mother Edith Frank moved to Amsterdam because the Nazis were taking over Germany and made lot of rules for the Jewish, and Anne's family were Jewish!

After World War II started her family moved to a hiding place in an office building, where her father thought it would be safe from the Nazis. There was only 6 rooms in the hiding place, and there were 8 people sharing it! There were Anne's family, Mrs. and Mr. van Daan with their son Peter and Mr. Dussel a dentist. There Anne started writing her diary about her life. They woke at 6:45 am, ate breakfast, by 8:30 they had to be quiet, they couldn't even use water!

The life in hiding wasn't easy. After two years of hiding, one day in August 1944, they were found and put into a concentration camp. Anne and her sister died of Typhoid. Her mother died of starvation. Her father was the only one that survived in the family and one of the few of all the Jews that survived.

Her father published Anne's diary unchanged two years after Anne's death, her diary was translate into all different kind of languages. Also in 1959 a movie was filmed about her and her diary.
