Julie Foudy
Julie Foudy is a
famous women soccer player! She plays center midfield. Julie is 5 feet 6 inches
and 130 pounds. Her first goal was on April 3, 1991, US vs. Hungary. She is
co-captain and an 11-year veteran of the U.S. Women's National Team that won the
World Cup in 1999. She was also a member of the Gold Medal Women's Olympic Team
in 1996. Her team mates call her "Rowdy Foudy."
Julie grew up in Southern California and always wanted to become a sportscaster. She was born on January 23, 1971 in Mission Viejo, California. She was a member of the Sacramento Storm that won the California State Amateur Championship in 1993, 1995 and 1997. She graduated from Stanford University with a degree in biology. She once thought about becoming a doctor. Julie Foudy married Ian Sawyers in July 1995.She had six goals and seven assists in 1998. Julie Foudy is a great soccer player!
