She started her business in a place called Palo Alto, California. Today Mrs. Fields has over 650 locations in the United States, and over 65 international locations in 11 different countries. Mrs. Fields' stores were first known as Mrs. Field's Chocolate Chippery. She changed the name to Mr. Fields' Cookies so that she could sell other kinds of cookies.
Debbi herself said, "everybody said I couldn't do it, I didn't have a job, I didn't have money, I didn't have formal education, I just had a recipe, and a dream." Debbi Fields stuck to her dream and today her cookies make everyone smile!
