Amelia Earhart

Amelia Earhart was born in 1897 and died in 1937. She was born in Atchison, Kansas. She was famous because she was the first women to fly across the Atlantic Ocean alone in a airplane. She loved airplanes ever since she saw her first one in 1908 at the Iowa State Fair. She was going to be famous again to fly around the world but she crashed somewhere near Hawaii in the Pacific Ocean. No one could find her. After she died her husband wrote a book about her. Amelia wrote books and articles about her experiences. She was very good friends with Eleanor Roosevelt. She believed in women's rights. In 1922 Amelia bought her first plane. She demonstrated that everyone has the ability to do more and to be more.
