Amanda Borden

The famous person I chose was Amanda Borden I chose her because she was on the first ever Olympic Gold Medal team for U.S. women's gymnastics. Her full name is Amanda Kathleen Borden. She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on May 10, 1977. She graduated from Finneytown High School in Cincinnati, Ohio. She is famous because she is a gymnastics person. Her job is a gymnastics because she is very good at gymnastics. Amanda is a three time World Team member and earned a silver medal in the team competition in 1994. Borden was chosen to demonstrate what 1996 Women's Gymnastic Compulsories would look like at the 1991 World Gymnastics Championships in Indianapolis, Indiana.

When she was little, she studied ballet and then she switched to gymnastics.  She is also a gymnast at Svetlana Boginskaya. She eats a lot of vegetables. Her favorite color is purple. She almost quit after not making the 1992 Olympic team. She was the captain of the 1996 U.S. Gymnastics team known as the Magnificent 7. She did some commentary at the 1998 Goodwill Games. Her hobbies are playing on the computer, exercising, shopping and relaxing.

After the 1996 Olympic Games, Borden appeared in numerous national tours and television appearances. She graduated summa cum laude from Arizona State University with a degree in early childhood education.  In 2006, Amanda married Brad Cochran. They own the Gold Medal Gym in Tempe, Arizona where they live with their daughter. Amanda is a commentator for many TV networks during gymnastic events.
