Chantelle Denise Anderson Chantelle Anderson was born January 22, 1981 in Loma
Linda, California. She is a professional basketball player in the Women’s
National Basketball Association (WNBA.), Wearing number 7, Chantelle plays for
the San Antonia Silver Stars. Her nickname was Chan. Chantelle is the daughter
of Paul and Nylene Anderson, and has three sisters. She played at Vanco Hudson
Bay High School in Vancouver, Washington. Chantelle was announced U.S.A. Today’s
1999 Player of the Year in Washington. Chantelle graduated from Vanderbilt
University in 2003, she was Vanderbilt’s all-time lead scorer with 2,604 points.
She was named to the All-American team in 2001. Anderson was a member of gold
medal winning U.S. basketball Jones Cup team in 2000. She earned her second
M.V.P. honors in 2001. In her WNBA career highlights Anderson was selected 2nd
overall by the Sacramento Monarchs in the 2003 WNBA draft. She spent the 2003
and 2004 season with the Monarchs as a utility player. On May 18, 2005 the
Monarchs traded her to the San Antonio Silver Star. During the 2004 and 2005
WNBA off-season, Anderson played for USVO in Valenciennes Cedex, France. She
averaged 9.7 points and rebounds per game. We think Chantelle is a great WNBA
player. We really want to go to one of her games.
