Hawaii

Do you know where yellow hideous is grown or what is the biggest fish and longest? It’s the Humuhumunukunukupuadk. I can't even pronounce it. Well, it all started on the North Pacific, in Hawaii, my favorite state. The climate is subtropical with wide variations in the temperature. The size is 13,796 square miles and it ranks at 41 out of 50 states. The population is 1,183,723. It is only 4,000 square miles, but, hey, that's OK. Hawaii’s capital is Honolulu. Some important cites are Kahiuk, Hanle, Vanina and Waitulu.

There are nice things there like mountains, bays, and palm trees. They have coffee trees. There are a lot of other trees and the state tree is Kukiuik. The water is crystal clear. Be careful of Volcanoes. Yes! I said, 'Volcanoes!’

The best part is the songs. One of the most popular songs is Ponoi. There is a special bird; it’s well, not really, a bird. It is a goose called Nene. Some Hawaiian words are hallow that means "love," "welcome," "good luck," "hello," and "goodbye." Panielele means "cowboy".

There are a lot of sports; swimming is one great sport. It is also the wettest spot, a surf place. Wow! Sounds like a lot to me! Boating is fun to and Kailua Kong. Anyway there are ranches and parks. Every August 21, a special fair starts.

Hawaians  processed sugar, canned pineapples, clothing, foods, printing and publishing. They grow sugar, pineapples, macadamia nuts, fruits, coffee, and vegetables. The farming starts in July. They also raise cattle and calves, hogs and pigs.

Hawaii was the last state to join the union. It became part of our states in 1959. The first Europeans to go there arrived in 1778. The Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor in 1941. This was during WWII.

You can see many different places in Hawaii. You can visit the National Memorial Cemetery, Pearl Harbor, and the Diamond Head. I hope you enjoyed my report.
