Arkansas

Arkansas is a very interesting state in many ways. It is located in the western part of the south central region of the United States. Five states border Arkansas. They are Louisiana, Missouri, Tennessee, Oklahoma, and Mississippi. On the east are Tennessee and Mississippi. On the north is Missouri. On the south is Louisiana, and on the west is Oklahoma.

There are many interesting things to learn about Arkansas. Arkansas is a very populated state. Its population is 2,452,671. The size is also very large. It is 53,104 square miles. Arkansas capital is Little Rock. Other important cities are Hot Springs, Fort Smith, Pine Bluff, Fayetteville, Jonesboro, West Memphis, and El Dorado. The climate has mild winters and long hot summers.

There are many important symbols for Arkansas. The appleblossom is Arkansas flower. There are also many other symbols. Arkansas State tree is the pine. Arkansas nickname is "The Land Of Opportunity." "Arkansas" is the name of Arkansas song. The diamond is Arkansas gem. The diamond is Arkansas gem because it has the only major diamond mine in the United States. Arkansas bird is the mockingbird. Its’ state insect is the honeybee. Its’ state rock is bauxite, the aluminum rock.

There are many different landforms in Arkansas. Arkansas has some main rivers. They are the Arkansas, the Mississippi, Quachita, and the St. Francis. Its main lake is Lake Chicot. There are also a few very important caves. They are Blanched Springs Caverns, Great Hurricane Cavern, Diamond Cave, Indian Rock House, Old Spanish Treasure Cave, and Shawnee Cave. Arkansas highest point is Mount Magazine. It is 2,753 feet tall. It's lowest point is Quachita.

Arkansas manufactures many products. Some house products are plastic such as containers and tables. Some other products are air conditioners, refrigerators, food specialized in dairy products, clothing for winters and summers, rubber for tires and hoses, furniture such as couches, and paper. Another product that science labs might use are chemicals.

Arkansas grows and raises many products. One dairy product is milk. Some meats are cattle, beef, chickens, and hogs. Oats and tomatoes are two foods, and cotton, sorghum, soybeans, and rice are all plants.

Some natural resources that Arkansas has are beautiful woodlands. These woodlands are made up of oak, hickory, gum, cypress, and pine trees. Some natural resources that are underground are, oil, bromine, natural gas, bauxite (aluminum), and vanadium.

Arkansas is a very interesting state to write about. Many people visit Arkansas every year. Even our president was raised in Arkansas. Maybe one day I'll live in Arkansas.
