After a few days visiting North Carolina I decided to
drive my truck down to Myrtle Beach. It is a great spot for family
vacations. The beach is very clean and the water is warm. I drove across
the state to the state capital, Columbia. During the Civil War, 84 blocks
of the city was burned to the ground. I drove north the Spartanburg to see
the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Then I went to Charleston. It
is city that was built by the British in the 1700s. It is one of the
bigger ports on the Atlantic Ocean. It is a beautiful city. While I was
driving I saw lots of tobacco farms, cattle, and dairy farms. I saw many
plants that make fabric and chemicals. Then I drove south the Hilton Head
Island for some great golf! Sadly, it was time to leave South Carolina. I
had a wonderful stay. I think I'll hit Georgia. I've heard that Savannah
is a great place to visit!
