One hot summer day I was riding through Missouri looking for something
to do. Then I had an idea to go see the St. Louis Cardinals play the New
York Mets. The Mets are my favorite baseball team. The game was terrific
because the Mets won on a Piazza homerun! Next, my friends and I went on a
paddle boat ride down the Mississippi River. It was so much fun! The
paddles threw a little bit on water on us. It was just enough to keep us
cool! We saw a lot of things like Dogwood trees, Bluebirds and a flower
named Hawthorn which are all state symbols. Then we went to visit the
Ozark National Scenic Riverway, it was the first national riverway. That
wasn't really my favorite thing. We also visited the Harry Truman Home (he
was one of the presidents) and the place where Mark Twain, a famous author
was born. Along the way we saw lots of farms! Missouri sure is a nice
place to visit but it was finally time to say goodbye! Off to Illinois!
