Wyoming The state I'm writing about is Wyoming. It is a north western state the bordering states are Montana, South Dakota, Nebraska, Colorado, Utah, and Idaho. Wyoming usually gets 14.8 inches of precipitation a year. Wyoming usually gets a lot of big snowstorms and windy blizzards. The size of Wyoming is 97,203 m.m. and the population in Wyoming is 470,816. Wyoming's capital is Cheyenne. Some cites are Larme, Casper, Gillette, Sheridan, Evanston, Cody, Powell, Lovel, Worland and Jackson. The Rocky Maintains are also in Wyoming. They are in the northwestern part of Wyoming. Yellowstone National Park is also in Wyoming. It is located in the northwestern part of the state. Yellowstone is mostly made up of wildlife and forests. Some reservoirs are Boyson Reservoir, Flaming George Reservoir, and Palisades Reservoir. Other bodies of water Green River, Missouri River and Yellowstone Lake. The highest point in Wyoming is 13,804 feet and the lowest point is 6,700 feet. Wyoming has two major basins called Big Horn Basin and the Wyoming Basin. The Great Plains are very hilly and many river flow through them. They are located in eastern Wyoming, the Plains are lower than the mountains but they are very high. There are many symbols that stand for Wyoming. Like the state bird the Meadowlark, you might find that bird flying around the Cottonwood tree which is by the way the state tree. The state flower witch is the Indian Paintbrush might be planted around the state tree. While planting the state flower someone might be singing the state song "Wyoming". The gardener might be wearing a Jade stone necklace the state stone. She also might be wearing a T-shirt that has the state seal on it. On the back of the shirt would be the state motto "Equal Rights" and she might be wearing a hat that says Wyoming became the 44 th state on July 10, 1890, and on the back of the hat would be the state nickname "The Equality State".The first European to set foot in Wyoming in 1807 was John Colter. That's just a part of Wyoming's history. Wyoming became a state on July 10, 1890 and that is when Cheyenne became the capital of Wyoming and Wyoming became the 44 th state in the United States of America. The first people to set foot on Wyoming were Robert Campbell and William L. Sublett. The first Monument in Wyoming was Devils Tower in 1900 in the 1840's pioneers sailed west threw Wyoming to the west. In 1873 Yellowstone National Park became the first national park.If you were visiting Wyoming some sights you might want to see are Yellowstone National Park, Yellowstone is full of wildlife and you can bring your tents or campers. You could also visit (and climb) Devils Tower. Indians believed that it was a big volcano. One day a big bear came and started to scrach at it, and now only the middle of the volcano was left. You might also want to visit Colters Hell, which were hot springs, geysers, pools of hot scalding water, and a spring bubbling with water. It's called Calters Hell because John Colter discovered it and the first time he saw it he thought it was Hell. Some things that Wyoming manufactures are lumber, they use the lumber to make furniture, and they use some of the wood for paper and books that Wyoming published. Wyoming also makes processed food, like caned corn caned peas and tomatoes. Some things that Wyoming raises are sheep for the meet and the wool and they raise cattle for the milk and the dairy products and for the meat. Some plants that Wyoming grows are sugar beats oats wheat and potatoes. Some things that Wyoming uses for natural above ground are forests, for the lumber to make furniture. Wyoming also uses sand and gravel and sand and gravel and stone products. Wyoming also makes things from below ground like mineral deposits, soil, mining and coal. Wyoming is very interesting state. With it's capital of Cheyenne and the cities of Casper, Evenston and Sheridan. When I get older and I can drive my own car I will definitely visit Wyoming and you should too. |
