West Virginia I'm reporting on the state West Virginia. West Virginia borders Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, Kentucky, and Ohio. The climate is very humid. The population is 1,950,250 and the area is 24,282 square miles. The capital is Charleston and other cities are Huntington, Wheeling, Parkersburgh, Morgantown, Weirton, and Fairno. The landforms are very mountainous. On the eastern side of West Virginia there are the Appalachian Mountains. In the middle of West Virginia there is the Allegheny Plateau. On the west of West Virginia side the Ohio rivers. On the south side of West Virginia there is Bluestone Reservoir. West Virginia has many symbols. If you're going though West Virginia you might see a cardinal, the state bird. Did you ever know that "Mountaineers Are Always Free" is the state motto? In the woods you might see the state animal, the black bear and the state tree sugar maple. If you're by the pond you might see the brook trout, the state fish. The state flower is the rhododendron and you might hear the state song, West Virginia Hill the state song. West Virginia has a lot of history. So here it is. West Virginia became the 35th state on June 20, 1863. In 1742 John Peter Salley found Coal River. In 1952 Bluestone Dam was completed. I don't know what date this was on but it was one of worst floods in West Virginia history killed. West Virginia has a little bit of customs and a little bit of Recreation. If you're going though West Virginia you better see the Black waterfalls and the Blue stone dam. Here some of the customs that are in West Virginia they test the strength and skill of work horses, and state fair and West Virginia state folk festival. West Virginia Grows lots of cows for the milk and meat and chicken for eggs. West Virginia Natural resources above ground are small patches fertilize for crops, and West Virginia has coal below grounds, and natural gas liquids sand petroleum. West Virginia also has sand and gravel. West Virginia is very interesting with its cities and rivers. In deed West Virginia is one of the poorest states. Its a good place to visit. |
