Delaware

Delaware is located in the Northeastern part of the United States. The highest temperature is 87 F, the lowest is 25 F. Delaware is 2,054 square miles. It is the second smallest state. It’s population is 594,338. Three cities are Wilmington, Dover, and Georgetown. Dover is the capital. Delaware is near the Atlantic Ocean.

Delaware has rivers, streams, oceans, and creaks. In the land there is sand, gravel, and iron. Delaware is important because it was the first state. It became a state on December 7, 1787. Delaware Indians made houses out of grass and bark. Some places to visit are Henry Francis du Point Winterthur Museum, and Fort Delaware. Some sports and festivals that are in Delaware are All Star Football games, Horse racing, Irish festival, kite festival, Island Art Festival, Delaware State Fair, World Weakfish Tournament, and Brandywine Art Festival.   

Some customes that are celebrated in Delaware are Swedish Colonial Day, Old Dover Day, Wilmington Garden Day. One saying said in Delaware is, "Always keep a pot of food boiling."

Delaware manufactures many things also, here are some: automobiles, chemicals, broilers, instruments, cloth, paper, dyes, metal, rubber, and plastic.
