The history of Arkansas is the Quapaw, Caddo, Cherokee, and Choctaw Indians owned it. Also at the time of the European contact Spain and France ruled Arkansas. There is also a very famous diamond mine in Arkansas, and it was the first state to have found diamonds. In the Civil War it was part of the South. In 1921 they discovered an oil mine in El Dora. On 1836 it became the 25^th State of the United States of America.

Many people in Arkansas say "The people rule" that is why it has been chosen to be the state motto. In the forest you can see many Mocking birds that is why it is the state bird. You can also see many honey bees that is why it is the state insect. A beautiful flower in Arkansas is the Apple Blossom so they made it the state flower. In the woods there are many pine trees that is why it is the state tree. Since the name of the state is Arkansas they made it into the state song. Also since Arkansas has many diamonds in the ground it is the state gem. The quartz crystal is such a pretty rock it became Arkansas rock. Many people in Arkansas like to play the fiddle they made it the state instrument. The state Flag is red with a blue diamond in the center with Arkansas written in it. Around the word there is twenty-five stars around it there is also three stars closer to it.
