Alaska

Alaska is not as boring as most people think it is. Actually it’s very interesting (in my opinion). It’s located in the northwest. By being so far north it’s very cold. It can reach to 60 degrees below 0! The population is 302,361 people and the size is 586,412 miles. Alaska has many cities like Barrow, Kotzebue, Nome, Fairbanks, Willow, Anchorage, Valdez, Seward, Skaqway, Sitka, Wrangell, and Ketchikan. Most things have strange names like the capital Juneau. Alaska also has mountains but not just any mountain Alaska has the biggest mountain in North America! Its name is Mt. McKinley. A 13-year-old designed Alaska's flag! The state flower is called the "forget-me-not". The state tree is the Sitka Spruce and the bird is the Willow Ptarmiqan.

Long ago people came from Asia to Alaska. How did they get here? Well back then there was a piece of land connecting both lands it was not easy, they had to walk 1,000 miles! Every year the people in Alaska have celebrations as a custom. They use totem poles and some of the best food. For example whale and fish. There are a lot of things to do in Alaska like ski, visit parks, dogsled, take walks, visit the cities, go outside, fish, hunt, and go to museums.

Alaska manufactures a lot of products like fast freezed foods, logging, wood processing, printing, parkas, boots, and other clothes. Alaska also grows vegetables. It raises cattle, caribou, dogs, bears, and horses. Alaska has Natural resources above and below ground. Timber and coal are above ground. Gold, oil, silver, jade, tin, chromate are all below ground. All that I have told you is found in Alaska!
