Materia Medica of Vegetable Origin

In the 1950's, before Tibet was invaded by China, it was said that there was more than three hundred species of medicine plants.  But towards the late 1900's many have become completely extinct. 

Buddhists think all plants are sacred. The painting we are working on has to do with plants and how they are used as medicines. Some medicines from long ago are still being used today. They help heal fractured bones, stop hemorrhages and other types of sicknesses.  Aloe from the aloe plant is used to heal cuts and rashes.
