2 T Poetry

We've been reading lots of different poems this year. We've written 5 Senses and 5 W's Halloween poems. Some of us have written couplets and free verse. When we found out about Instructor Magazine's First Annual Student-Poetry Contest, we were excited! We've read that writers often write from experience - about things that they are very familiar with. So...our poems are all about our families. The magazine will select one primary winner (grades K-4) and one intermediate winner (grades 5-8). Each of the two selected poems will appear on a poster in the May/June Instructor, and each will form the basis of a Poetry Workshop lesson in that issue. Three runners-up in each of the two age groups will also be selected and acknowledged. Wish us luck!
