The Interesting Pet

One year later Louis got another pet for his birthday. It was an interesting pet from Uncle Fred. Louis was happy and excited and so was Alphonse. But his parents did not want to keep Norin the bird because they did not want to do what they did with Alphonse when he got too big. Soon summer vacation arrived and Louis remembered that Norin could live in the Bronx Zoo. Louis would visit Norin on Fridays and Sundays too. When school started Louis thought that Norin was going to be all right but Louis's class had a class trip to the Bronx Zoo. He was worried about Norin because he thought his friends would make fun of him for having a weird pet. So he ran as fast as he could run and got to Norin. Louis told Norin to fly back home and he ran back to school. Then it was almost dark and then he went to bed. The next year Uncle Fred came back and gave Louis another present. It looked like just an ordinary slug but it really wasn't.
