Here are some things that we did in our play called A Native American Welcome. Half of the class was Indians and the other half were Pilgrims. They were celebrating Thanksgiving because the Indians helped them. I will never forget this play because I had a lot of fun and I can also remember the play by visiting the web site at Pocantico.

This play we put on was called A Native American Welcome. We were dressed in costumes too. On the day of the feast, Edward Winslow walked up to Chief Massasoit and said, "Welcome, without the help of your tribe we would not be alive now."  That was my favorite part because we got to go eat.

I was Squanto in the play. I helped the Pilgrims to plant corn, get maple syrup and to learn which plants to eat.

Here are some pictures about 2T's Thanksgiving play called A Native American Welcome where the Indians and Pilgrims got together for a feast. That feast became the first Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving is about what people are thankful for. The Pilgrims were afraid of the Indians. They thought the Indians would hurt them. Some of the Indians were afraid of the Pilgrims and thought they would attack them. Squanto, Someset, and some other Indians wanted to help them. Squanto especially wanted to help them. When the Pilgrims and Indians got together, and got to know each other, they had the first Thanksgiving. They learned that no matter what language you speak, you can still get together. 2T put on that play to show what Thanksgiving is alllll about and what you should do on Thanksgiving. 2T put on that play to show that we are thankful for what we have. Thanksgiving is one of the most special holidays. We had fun doing the play. A lot of people came to see what Thanksgiving is all about. They came to see that we are thankful for what we have, who we are, that we have friends, and what we do. You should still be thankful for what we have, who we are, that you have friends, and what we do.

We did a play called A Native American Welcome in room 106. In the play I was Sarah. Lara was my mom and her name was Elizabeth. The Indians were very nice to the Pilgrims. The Indians liked the Pilgrims especially Squanto, Samoset and Massasoit. All the Indians cared about the Pilgrims and didn't want to see them starve though the rough winter. Squanto said, "I will teach you how to plant corn with fish heads the Indian way. The day when they were having the feast so many Indians came, that Elizabeth worried they would run out of food! Massasoit said that would not be necessary because they would return with more food. Indian 8 and Indian 7 returned with deer meat and other food. Indian 8 said, "We bring you deer meat." Olivia was Indian 8. Arun was Indian 7. Marcelo was Massasoit. Chris was Squanto and Vincent was Samoset. The play was fun. My favorite part was when I pulled on Lara's skirt 2 times. Lara said at the end, "Happy Thanksgiving everyone."

This story we did is called A Native American Welcome. We were dressed up like this because we were putting a play on. The play was about the Pilgrims and the Indians getting together. They had a feast celebrating Thanksgiving. The Indians were trying to help the Pilgrims live through the winter. Squanto showed the Pilgrims how to make homes called wigwams. He showed them where to fish and how to get sap from maple trees. He pointed out dangerous plants and plants that could make them better when they were sick. He helped them and was their friend. I liked the play because we all worked together and because it was about Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving is a time of friendship. The play you just saw (well those of you who didn't see our play should look at our Pocantico Hills web site to see the pictures.) The play was about how the Indians and the Pilgrims had a feast with lots of food. Right this very day we celebrate that day long ago as Thanksgiving.

We did a play about the Pilgrims and the Indians. It was fun. My mom came to our play. She came to watch with some other moms and dads.

We did a play called A Native American Welcome. It was about some Indians who taught the Pilgrims what to eat. They also taught the Pilgrims to plant corn with fish head. Then when the Pilgrims and the Indians got along together the Pilgrims invited the Indians to come to a feast. The Indians thought it was a Green Corn Festival, but it was really a Thanksgiving feast.

We were in those costumes because we had a play. There was the chief and Edward Winslow. They had food at a feast. Squanto taught the Pilgrims how to get maple syrup from trees. My part was when Squanto says scarce.

Our class did a play and it turned out good. It was about Pilgrims and Indians. I had a colorful hat that had feathers on it. It was called a headdress. We had a fun play. The Pilgrims and Indians had a party and it was a lot like an Indian Corn Festival, but it was a Thanksgiving festival.

We did a play called A Native American Welcome and it was about the Indians and the Pilgrim's Thanksgiving. I was an Indian like Robert, Kathryn, Jamie, Olivia, Arun, Jonathan and Nura. I like the play so much I wish we could do it again.

We did a play before Thanksgiving. It was about Indians and Pilgrims. I was an Indian like Matthew, Robert, Jonathan, Olivia, Kathryn, Jamie and Nura. I liked this because it was fun pretending. My favorite part was carrying the deer to the Pilgrims.
by Arun

We did a play called A Native American Welcome. I was in it. My part was, "I'll trust you Squanto, let's go." I was an Indian.

Our class did a play and it was called A Native American Welcome. One of my parts was to announce the title of the book that we read before the play. Then I read the first page of the book. I announced the title of the play, too.

We had a wonderful play. When the play began, the Indians were talking and the Pilgrims were cold and shivering. The Indian Squanto said he would come and help the Pilgrims learn to plant corn, use plants and berries, and build houses. I was a Pilgrim. Then we had a feast. It was a Thanksgiving feast and there was a real turkey on the table. It looked fake! At the end, Lara said, ''Happy Thanksgiving everyone!" Then everyone said, "Happy Thanksgiving!"
