Spring at Stone Barns
By Danaiya

What is Spring?

Spring tastes like spinach freshly cut and green.
It’s the best thing I’ve ever seen.

Spring sounds like sheep dogs barking and larks singing.
I even hear birds winging.

Spring looks like flowers blooming in the sun.
They look like they are having fun.

Spring smells like fresh, fresh air, newly cut grass and tomato plants.
These are good smells even to the ants.

Spring feels like rough scratchy hay in the hay stack.
It sticks to the wool of a sheep’s back.
