I stared at the unusual scarecrow standing in the middle of the lush field. I noticed he seemed to be as tall as a pitchfork. When I walked up to him I touched his soft velvet wings because I couldn't believe those blue wings were really there. But when I got to the middle of one wing I pricked my finger on the wood supporter. Then I delicately felt the string that supported his flapping wings. My mouth watered at the sight of his candy corn fangs. Unsuspectingly, a cool wind blew and I heard a sudden ding-dong from the scarecrow's bell. I couldn't help but notice he was all set for winter! He had on a pink floppy hat and two scarves! Then I noticed his orange shoes and old-fashioned pants. By nightfall he looked so real I thought he would fly away.
