The Ducks That Went South
By Anna

One day, in the summer of 1801, two ducks swam in a pond. The two ducks had exquisite feathers. Soon, it became cold and the ducks had to fly south. As they flew, there was a shimmering full moon in the sky.

Winter arrived and it became dark and windy. The two ducks got shot by a hunter because of their beautiful feathers. They were wounded in their wings.

Luckily, a gentleman helped the two ducks. He took them home to fix their wings. Since it was almost summer, they had to go north again. The birds thought how nice it was of him to take care of them so they decided to go back and remain as his pets.

Lost and Found
By Anel

One night a mother goose lost her babies and she went looking for them. A male goose asked her,"What is wrong?" She told him what had happened and he decided to help her find them.

It was so dark that they almost couldn’t see, but they spotted the bright lights of a party. There they saw the goslings dancing, so mom swooped down to get her babies.

Mom said,"What are you doing?"

"We’re dancing, Mommy," they quacked back.

"I’m so happy you found them!" said the male goose.

"Thank you for helping me," she answered. "You helped a lot, Mr. Goose.

"Oh, he replied, "it was nothing. They stayed together and lived happily ever after.

The Two Unusual Geese

There were once two unusual geese. Every time the other geese soared south, they would see the two geese gliding north. A few days later, the two geese almost looked like snowmen. They were freezing and ready to die. They used to be black but now they were white. They said, "Next time, we'll follow the other geese."

Early the next morning, they got up and started flying south. It was a wild and wacky trip, but they survived it and decided not to be so unusual any more. "In the future," they quacked, "we'll fly with all the other geese!"

The Two Birds and The Bad Storm

Once upon a time, in the middle of Maine, two beautiful birds flew to their nest. The baby birds had just hatched. Suddenly bad storm hit and the mother and father hid the babies in their feathers. The storm was so bad that the mom broke one of her wings and she couldn't fly. The father had to find the food for the babies, his wife and himself.

A little later, somebody came walking in the woods and saw them. The person who was named Emily took the man into her house to take care of her. Emily let the mom; babies and the father stay with her until the mom was better. She fed them, even named them.

Emily loved birds and did not want to see them hurt. When the mom was able to fly, Emily took them back to where she found them. They appreciated her kindness and were happy to see her when she came to visit them. They always remembered the day when she had saved them.

Flying South in a Storm

Once upon a time, two ducks and their ducklings were drinking water in Albany, NY. They saw some ducks starting to fly south and they decided to go too.

When they were finally in the air, they were thinking,"What a wonderful time we will have in Florida!" Before long, they found they were heading for a big storm. They flew down and hid in a hole in a stone well and there they stayed for five days until the storm passed. The day that they came out was beautiful, so they decided to continue flying.

Later that day, they landed in Florida and they drank water with the other grownups while the ducklings played with the other ducklings. The little ones played tag and a game called "capture the dead fish." Before long, they would begin the return trip to NY.

Flying Away

It was a cold fall night, almost winter. Alex and Kati were young geese and they did not want to fly away. They wanted to keep playing.

Finally, they realized they had no choice but to fly south. It was really getting cold where they were. So, off they flew.

As they were flying, they saw an iceberg and they decided to explore. They saw some other geese whose names were Luis and Jasmine. Then they all played tag and some other games.

Soon, the freezing cold told them it was time to continue flying to a warmer place. Off they all went, high into the big blue sky.

Ducks

Once a bad bird came and tried to destroy the birds of a little village. Two birds stood up to them but they were frightened away by the big, bad bird.

The little birds didn’t look panicked, but they were. They flew and flew until they were exhausted. The sun was going down and night was approaching. Both of them slowed down and decided to land. They didn’t know that where they landed was where the bad birds lived.

All the bad birds had heard about these two little birds and they were waiting for them. They were trapped because if they went back, they would run into the other bad bird. Just then, the birds in the village decided to save them. The bad birds were afraid to fight and they flew away. After that, they settled down where the bad birds used to live.

The Journey

One day, two ducks were going to look for food and water. When they got back home, a loud machine was destroying their home. It was coming toward them and they flew away. They were very frightened so they flew quickly and well.

They landed in tall, tall grass. Nearby, there was a lake with crows and seagulls that were so mean that the ducks left. An hour later, they landed at a new place that was really beautiful. There was a pond and the pond had trees and flowers all around it. There was an island in the middle of it that had trees, grass and tulips on it. They thought it was such a lovely place that they started a new family and never wanted to leave again.

Two Lucky Ducks

Once there was a huge forest fire and almost everything in the forest was wiped out. In fact, everything was wiped out except two lucky ducks. They got out right when it happened.

They decided to go out west to find more food and to make a nest. They wanted to have a better life and to mate and have babies.

Unfortunately, they made a nest near a grumpy man’s house. But when they honked, the grumpy man came out and shot the male duck. He ate it for dinner and the poor female was left all alone.

She went out to find a new mate and she was successful. They made a better life together.
