It was a pitch black foggy day when I opened a book that my dad warned me not to read. As I opened the first page I turned into stone. I could not move. About a minute later I could not feel my nose. My mom came up to my room and yelled. She ran downstairs to find my dad and told him what had happened.
In a flash, my dad arrived. They took me to the doctor and he told us that "the only thing to make me better was a green and red plant that was only found on the top of a mountain. "My dad yelled, "I am going to get it." He was risking his life for me!
I thought my dad must really love me for doing that! We went back home and my dad started to pack up. After he left. I was worried. My mom said good bye. I tried to wave good bye but I couldn't. My dad called us and said that he was already in the airplane.
Now it was time to go to school. I could not go to school because of what had happened. The nurse called us but we didn't think she would believe us. So we said that I had a fever. She believed us and said, "Thanks for telling me."
I was in my room thinking what my dad might be doing now. I thought for a moment that maybe he was falling off a mountain or that he had gotten sick. My mom was on her cell phone, and I tried to hear what she was saying. She was talking with a doctor who told her that my dad had fallen from a mountain and broken his leg. He was sick in the hospital. I ran to my room. My mom realized that I was listening so she went to my room and said that dad was going to get better. I could not believe her. I was thinking what might happen to dad. "Will he be alive?" I kept asking myself. I went to sleep. When I woke up, my dad was home and we put the book back in Mr. Linden's Library.
