Family Violin
By Indraneel

The item that has been passed down in my family is a very old violin. My family first got it many years ago when my grandfather bought it. It has beautiful dark cherry wood violin that is polished. The violin has a few dents and scratches, but it's in pretty good condition. Whenever the case is opened, it's smell always weird, but I've gotten used to. The violin's case is covered with reddish leather and it has a long wooden bow with horsehair. My grandfather gave it to my grandmother. She played it about ten years ago when my family moved to the United States; it was given to my dad. Four years ago, my dad gave it to my brother. The violin is sitting in the living room in its case when my brother is not practicing or playing in his school orchestra.
