"Whoosh, whoosh." I heard a sound as I was walking through the cornfield on a golden, sunny, autumn day. I saw a shadow waving at me and I knew it must be a scarecrow. I heard a whoosh from her black hat that looked like a bat sitting on her head. I heard a clacking sound from her golden button mouth. I smelled her dirty maroon patched overalls and felt a tap as a button came off them and hit me. Her small, shiny black eyes looked funny in her brown styrofoam face. Her straw hair stuck out of that hat and reminded me of shoelaces hanging down from her head. Her old work boots were black. I still didn't know what that shadow was, but we became friends.
