Whoosh, whoosh! I heard a sound as I was walking through a cornfield on a golden, sunny autumn day. I was surprised to see a shadow the size of my forearm. The shadow began moving at one o'clock. Suddenly it stopped at one thirty. I thought and thought until two o'clock. What made it stop? It had a happy smile. He wore a red coat with blue and green buttons. In his hand he was holding an old pitchfork. His black eyes reminded me of a black cat. I was surprised to see he had no nose! I laughed when I noticed he wasn't wearing any shoes. My eyes widened as I stared at his dark pumpkin head. I couldn't help but notice his sun/moon-patterned pants. In his hand I saw a rusty old pitchfork. It made me happy to see the smile on his face. Then I realized it was a friendly scarecrow!
