A Strange Day in July
by Kayla

As I got up one sunny morning and went down to the clear sparkly lake to skip rocks. I saw shiny rocks, bees with little wings, and blue green frogs on lily pads. I heard birds chirping in the distance. I bent down and grabbed a clear glittery rock, when I turned around to my friend Lilly behind me and said, "Do you want to play hide and go seek with me?" I said, "Yes, just let me skip this pretty rock. I skipped it and it came back to me, then I skipped it again it came back to me again, weird but let’s play now." "Ok," she said.

A few hours later I was lost in a deep dark scary forest I called out HELP but nothing was there I called out HELP again and out of the blue the rock appeared. It started to lead me some where. After an hour I found my self on my way to a gorgeous flower garden. Once we got there, I found my friend she said "are you okay" I said yes fine" the rock spelled out go straight and call HELP if you need me" thanks we said and the little said, "Do you think the rock has magical powers?" "Yes, no doubt about it."

We walked straight for hours. Finally we got back to my house and in front of my door was a little blue box with a bow on top. My friend said "what is that"

"I don’t know, let’s open it!" Inside was a little rock. "Hey, that looks like the rock that helped us." "Yah, it does." The next day I went outside to the pretty lake.

I looked behind me and there was the rock. It never leaves my side. I skipped it for a while. From that day on I never left the house without the gorgeous rock.
