A Strange Day in July
By Jack S.

One day in July me and my sister went to the beach. As we climbed the hill my nose picked up the scent of the salty water, my ears heard the waves crashing against the shore. After we reached the top of the hill, I saw the glimmering blue sparkling water and the golden sand burned my feet.

I ran down the towering hill with my sister. My sister started to skip rocks. They bounced twice then plopped into the water and then sunk into the waves. I picked up a dusty old rock that was lying at my feet I skipped it and it hit the water and then shot back at me. It seemed to aiming for my metal belt buckle.

My sister asked why it almost hit your belt. I had an idea. I wiped off the dust from the rock and I found out that it was a magnet. I told my sister that it was a magical rock with secret powers. She believed me at first, but then figured out why it kept going for my Metal Belt. We decided to go home and show our parents this magical magnetic rock. It was the best trick we ever played on them. I still have the rock to this day.
