My Life with a Wave
As part of our ongoing
participation in the Burns Film Center Visual Literacy Program, the third
graders recently visited the theater and viewed "My Life with the
Wave" as well as another animated film. Prior to the trip, the children
wrote original narratives telling how they would take a wave home from the ocean
and what might happen once they did. Using elaborative details to vividly
describe their own "private beaches," each child endeavored to make
their readers feel as if they were right there at the shore!
