My Life With A Wave
By Nick F.

One day my dad asked me if I wanted to go to the beach, and I answered yes. So we went to beach and I brought a surfboard so my dad and I could ride some waves. I also brought a basket to catch a wave to bring home! So I went out to the first title wave. I saw it's big mouth open and say softly so only I could hear, "Hello little boy, please catch me and bring me home with you!" I could not believe my eyes, I had just seen a wave open its mouth and talk! So I listened to the title wave, I mean how stupid could he be if he could survive in the Pacific Ocean? Then I suddenly had a happy thought, I could be his friend! So I picked up my basket and got into the water. I got half of the title wave in the soft basket. I finally got almost the whole thing in the basket and I easily got the other part of the title wave in the basket. But it was very hard to talk my dad into bringing it home but I found out it wasn't so hard after all! When the wave, my dad and I got home the title wave wasn't so bad after all. My mom said, "Don't be foolish Nicholas!" But I showed her the wave and said, "If I say I have something then I probably am not lying and if I don't I would say I don't! OK?" It was the next year, I was 13, and my mom said in a soft voice and in a sad voice, "Let the wave go." "What?" I said puzzled. "Let it go, you are too old to have a pet wave, you're thirteen and you're in eight grade!" It took me a long time to say yes but I did after I thought I was going to say no! So the next day I woke up and I walked over to the title wave and said sadly, "I need to let you go." "Ok," he said in a agreeable voice. So I picked up the basket and went to the window and watched the title wave disappear into New Hampshire. The next day I woke up and my mom said, "Do you want to go for a drive?" "Yes," I said. We drove past the ocean and I could not believe my big, blue, gray eyes, I yelled, "Stop the car!" "Ok," said my parents. So they stopped the car and I slammed the door and ran to the wet sand and said, "I can't believe that I would see you again." "I can't either," said the wave as he hit the ground.
