The Wave
By Daniel

"Haw, haw." The seagulls cried as I was at Pleasantville Beach. The sand was hot and rocky on my feet. I was sitting on a bench eating strawberries when I saw a really, really big wave. It looked like a whale standing on its fins! I thought the wave was going to come up on the beach and kill us all. The wave came up only halfway and washed all the beach toys and sandcastles away.

I saw the wave and got excited. I asked my mom if I could get a surfboard to ride it and she said, "Yes." I said, "Thank you, Mom." I took the surfboard to the water and swam to the big wave. I got up and stood on the surfboard and yelled, "Woo-hoo!" I rode the wave all the way home. On my way home I tipped over and almost sank. I got back on and got home ok.
