by
AJ and Indraneel

Appalachian Upland region is know as the Allegheny Plateau. The Appalachian Upland is also the biggest region in New York and it covers almost half of the state. There are a lot of different kinds of landforms in this region. There are mountains like the Catskill Mountains that rise 4,000 feet above sea level.
Farming is important in our region because its' fertile soil is good for vineyards. Also there are nurseries in the Appalachian region.
Three main towns in this region are Binghamton, Ithaca, and Jamestown. The only big bodies of water are The Finger Lakes. Some attractions are parks and colleges, such as Binghamton University, Cornell University, and Ithaca College. Two of the parks are Quaker Area and Red House.
