The Adirondack Upland is located in the northeastern part of New York. It boarders the Great Lakes Plain, St. Lawrence-Champlain Lowland and the Hudson Mohawk lowland.
The Adirondack Upland is the home to many mountains. Mt. Marcy, the highest mountain in New York and it is in the Adirondack Upland and it is over 5,000 feet high. Since there are so many lakes in the Adirondacks fishing is a fun sport and a good resource.
The Adirondack Mountains are famous for its beautiful scenery. They have streams and waterfalls. It has over 2,000 lakes. Also because of the lakes there are beaches making it fun for people.
The winters are very snowy and with all the mountains skiing is a big attraction. Lake Placid is one of the area's most popular ski resorts but skiers also enjoy Gore Mountain and White Face Mountain. The Adirondack Park covers over six million acres and is the size of the state of Vermont.
