Philipsburg Manor in North Tarrytown,
NY.
Philipsburg Manor is a 300 year old working farm and gristmill on the banks of the
Pocantico River once owned by Frederick Philipse. Philipse was a carpenter who rose
to become the richest man in the colony of New York. He established a commercial center
which was operated by enslaved Africans. Today the site operates the mansion as a museum.
