Benjamin Franklin
by Danny

Hi, my name is Benjamin Franklin. I am one of the founding fathers of our country. I was born in Boston, Massachusetts. When I was young I hated writing. I used to like drawing in my writing book instead of writing. I hated making candles in my father's candle shop. I used to wish I were a sailor. When I became older I began to love writing and printing. I have always been very creative and hard working. In fact, I started working for my brother when I was 17 years old. I even invented a special stove now called the Franklin Stove. I usually invent things I need.

I have done a lot of important things. Most people remember me for discovering electricity and for helping Thomas Jefferson write the Declaration of Independence. I have had lots of adventures in my life. When I was almost a grown man, I ran away from my master James, who is my older brother. My first stop was New York. When I was looking for a job a man said, "My son will help you get a job in Philadelphia." So, I looked for a boat trip that was cheap ad when I found one I was on my way to Philadelphia. A bad storm occurred when we were leaving, so w set anchor and went to bed. When I was on land again I looked for another boat. I was so hungry. When I found a boat I had to paddle all the way to Philadephia, where I met Deborah, the woman who I married.

In my life I have invented lots of things. When I was 37 I invented a time machine. I saw lots of my inventions becoming famous by going into the future, for example, the Franklin Stove. It was something I simply made because it was cold. I also traveled into the past. When I was exploring I went to the caveman age where they just made wheels. I then went to the Egyptian times into the desert and saw the pyramids being built. As I was getting ready to leave a huge sandstorm hit. I couldn’t see the control panel. I had to get out of there! I hit the wrong button and that is how I came into 1998 and to Pocantico Hills School. There are a lot of new things here that are not created in my time, for example, computers, e-mail, cars, why even ball point pens are incredible to me.

Well I have to go now and explore 1998; there is so much to learn.

Benjamin Franklin

I am Benjamin Franklin. I was born in Boston on January 17, 1706. I was the fifteenth child in my family out of seventeen children. When I was a young I did not like math but I loved to read.

When I was an old man I wore a white shirt a black vest, a brown-reddish coat, and a black hat. I had gray hair, a little heavy, and wore glasses.

People liked me because I did things that had to be done. I also invented things that were useful. I was an inventor, writer, scientist, and an editor. I even made a lot of experiments.

After I worked with my brother for awhile I ran a way to Philadelphia because he did not treat me very nicely. In Philadelphia, I became a printer and known as the best printer around. I began a newspaper called the Pennsylvania Gazzette.

I married Debbie and had three children but one died. I had three businesses and had a simple formula; I made what people wanted. I planned a library and found almanac and called Poor Richard’s Almanac. I taught myself French, Italian, Spanish, and Latin. I was elected as clerk and lawmaker. I was a postmaster, too. I helped set up the Union Fire Company and a police force. I invented an iron stove to help get heat.

As one of my many adventures, I found a way to keep light in a very exciting way. I decided to try this with a key and a kite during a rainstorm. Lightning struck the kite and hit the key. Ben Franklin got a small shock from the lightning. He caught the lightning. That was the fun part. Because of this adventure I invented a street lamp

Another of my adventures was when I made a potion to disappear. I made this potion in case of a war. It would help us win. But I tripped over a log and it fell all over me. After it fell all over me, I went walking down the street and I saw my friend, Thomas Jefferson. I began talking to him and it seemed that he was not listening to me. Then when I went home I began to wonder if that potion did something to me. I looked into a mirror and realized that I disappeared. It worked but then I figured out a potion to bring me back to normal.
