Iroquois Creation Stories
The students in Mrs. Lebenson's class have created their own Indian myths based on repeating characteristics they heard in other myths. They heard many examples of Indian creation myths. The children learned that there were eight repeating characteristics. The children identified a change occurred, tools were used to create a change, good and evil, death, family relationships, creation, revenge and a lesson. They worked in groups of four to write the myths.
