We Are Losing! Why?
by James & Steven

We are losing the war. Why is this? General Dinwiddie said: "The French are using guerilla warfare while the British generals are bringing over old European warfare."

We have 15 times as many people as them all in one position. This gives us better position and better tactics. Why are we losing? In the words of Massachusetts Priest, Jonathon Edwards: "God indeed is remarkably frowning upon us every where; our enemies get up above us very high, and we are brought down very low: They are the heads and we are the tails. What will become of us God only knows."

The French cannot win this war, or can they? It would be a disaster if they did. This war has only started and we have lost three forts in New York. It seems that the French are trying to split us, the colonies, in half. With all these losses, we will probably lose the war, unless our Navy can do something. With help from the strongest Navy in the world, we should dominate the seas and stop supplies from going into New France. For now, all we can do is pray for freedom, peace, and to stay here.

Hello, my name is James. I’m Steven. Today we are
interviewing a young major, George Washington. Hello George.

What was your childhood like?
Well, I was the son of a rich plantation owner and I had almost anything I wanted. When I turned 15, I began surveying the Virginia Frontier. When General Dinwiddie needed the letter to the French delivered, I offered to do it. After that he promoted me to a Major and I was given the task of guarding the Virginia Frontier.

Steve: Well thank you George, hope you do well in the future.
James: Well thank you for joining us in this addition of GWP Interviews.

What are we going to do? We are losing the war and we don’t have a Union. Without the Union, we will never win the war. There was a plan for a Union, though. The Albany Plan of Union never made it to us. When twelve delegates from twelve colonies met in Albany, NY, they were discussing ideas for a Union. When Benjamin Franklin stood up, he proposed the Albany Plan of Union. The Albany Plan of Union stated that there would be a Grand Council who could draw money from the treasury of any colony. It would also set up the defense of the colonies. All the delegates approved of it but when it was sent to the colonial officials, they all rejected it. Ben Franklin said, in a disappointed voice: "The people cry a Union is necessary. But when it is formed, their weak noodles are perfectly distracted."
