Characteristics: The dog I studied is the Bichon-Frise. It came from France in ancient times. This is a gentle, playful, loving animal. It is also white, fluffy, and puffy with small dark eyes and a cheerful personality. It weight about 12 pounds and is about 11 inches tall.

Original Function: The original function of this dog was as a pet for the French royalty. The king and queen of France would spoil their Bichon-Frise. When the king and queen of France lost interest in the dog it became a street dog. As a street dog it would perform and do tricks for people. 

Today's Function: Today the Bichon-Frise is used as a family pet.
