The COM (communication) officers
of our space shuttle take messages from the crew to send to Mission Control.
People from different stations on the spacecraft send messages on post-it-notes
to the COM officer. She will announce the information to Mission Control and
receive their replies. It is very frustrating to be in COM because everyone
wants your attention NOW. In spite of the chaos, it was extremely fun and
exciting! You got to work the with the cameras and wear headphones like they
wear in McDonalds! The COM officers worked very, very hard!
